From humble beginnings as a one-man operation, we have grown into a successful wholesale wine distribution company servicing Victoria. With an enviable portfolio of family owned and operated wineries that are among the best producers in the country, covering all the important wine regions of Australia, and a small selection of key producers from New Zealand..
We may not be the biggest wholesaler out there, but we cover just as much ground. Our team is on the road covering Victoria from one side to the other.

Meet Our Team

Scott McConnell
Scott has been owner and operator of the wine agent since 2001. In this time Scott has built up a business supplying independent liquor retailers with some of the best home grown and abroad wines on offer.
He cherishes his relationships with his clients and suppliers. Always learning and adapting the ever-changing landscape that is the Victorian market.
Always looking for new and popular products to supply the industry with fantastic wines.
Looking after the Melbourne CBD, Mornington Peninsula, West Melbourne and Northern region of Victoria, Scott is constantly on the road servicing as many independent retailers as possible.
Working with some of the best people in the industry, Scott endeavours to take the Wine Agent forward with the endeavour to be here for the long-term.
Scott's key roles are to develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to expand sales territory and meet monthly sales targets.
Provide exceptional customer service, including handling inquiries, resolving complaints, and offering personalized recommendations.
Manage inventory levels and place orders to replenish stock, ensuring product availability for clients. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and sales strategies tailored to specific client needs and market segments.

Nicole Baxter
Nicole is a recent addition to The Wine Agent team with a passion for wine and an exemplary customer service background having worked many years in retail and customer services. She strives to build long term relationships which complement both her clients and their customers.
Nicole is reliable, trustworthy and is enthusiastic about providing tailored solutions to her clients. She knows how important a well-structured wine list is to the dining experience to help her clients create and maintain success.
In her spare time, she likes to relax by cooking for family and friends, pairing good food with wine. She also enjoys traveling to experience different food and wine from different regions around Australia.

Bart Mierke
Barts long standing reputation with retail and wholesale experience fair exceeds his years. He has an in-depth knowledge of retail and what it takes to succeed in this environment.
Even though Bart is relatively new to the Wine industry, he is very successfully familiarizing himself with varietals, regions, vintages, and winemaking processes is crucial for representatives to confidently recommend products that align with clients’ preferences and needs. Expertise in these areas not only builds trust and credibility with clients but also enhances the ability to tailor sales strategies to diverse market segments.
In conjunction with Nathan, they both head up our social media and marketing sector and continue to amaze in this space.
In Barts down time he shares his life with 2 amazing teenage girls who keep him well and truly on his feet. With sporting activities such as motorcycle riding and Gym fitness, Bart well and truly has his ambitions centred.

Nathan McConnell
Nathan McConnell is a young and inspiring entrepreneur. He has found a new love of the wine industry and really enjoys serving the independent market in Victoria.
Nathan not only works out in the field but also controls the Social media content and works hand in hand with all marketing departments with our brands.
As just another string in his bow, Nathan also attends University and is studying in his Bachelor of business degree.
He hopes to bring what he is learning in outside of university how to best use his skills need to be the best representative for the wine agent he can be.
Nathans ultimate goal would become a sommelier as his pallet improves and matures in this space.
Nathan has upcoming wine tasting events on the calendar which is going to best serve this desire.
Nathan is obtaining a lot of on-the-job training , allowing himself to be familiarized with their company’s portfolio and sales techniques.
Nathan is undertaking Training programs focusing on wine education, sales strategies, and relationship building.

Matt Bradshaw
I have lived in the Gippsland area for 40 years with an extensive sales background and a love for the community in the Gippsland region.
As a member of a number of wine clubs I have a passion for wine and keen interest in small businesses.
I look forward to being of support to you and your business moving forward.
Matthew's role is centred around fostering relationships with customers and guiding them through the wine selection process, ensuring a match between the products offered and the customers’ needs and preferences.
He has lived in the Gippsland area for over 40 years and has an extensive sales background and a love for the Gippsland community. AS a member of a number of wine clubs, his passion for all things wine and being involved in small business is Matthew's forte. This position involves a deep understanding of the wine portfolio being represented, as well as the ability to educate and intrigue clients about the nuances of each wine. By maintaining a keen awareness of market trends and customer preferences. Matthew aims to drive sales and enhance the visibility of the brand within various retail and hospitality settings. Through a combination of strategic planning and customer engagement, he plays an integral role in expanding the brand’s market presence and achieving sales targets.
Matthew is responsible for the sales of wine (or products) at various retail stockists throughout the Gippsland metropolitan and regional areas. His passion and sales experience is second to none.
He is an amazing driven person who strives to achieve everyday.
With wife Tina and 2 amazing children you can often find Matthew having a yarn about a family get away, life on the farm or the one that got away on the last fishing adventure.
