Winemaker || Justin Ardill, Owner & Winemaker since 1993

Winemaking || Our dry grown vines are expertly managed to ensure low cropping at 1.5T/acre, with the challenging Tempranillo grape being one of the first of the vintage to ripen with low natural acidity. The 2020 was picked at optimal ripeness with prolonged cold soaking prior to open fermentation. Hand plunging and gentle pressing has retained the fine fruit characters prior to 18 months maturation in French oak hogsheads.

“Attractive bouquet of plums & blackberries with a hint of meatiness, lashings of layered flavours featuring plums, stewed cherries, cigar box cedar & a hint of coffee along with firm tannins on the long, lingering finish. OUTSTANDING!!”

“Handpicked and sorted, open-fermented, cold soak, cultured yeast, 8 days on skins, matured in French Oak (33% new) for 18 months. Isn’t daunted by the massively full-bodied Dry Land Shirazs in the Reilly’s orbit, and avoids over-extraction.   It is fully ripe and the full suite of cherry flavours fill the luscious palate and aftertaste.”
